1. Save Money: You shouldn’t have to make life-and-death decisions based on money. One ambulance ride could cost upwards of $4,000. With a Sierra Ambulance membership, you can have peace of mind that your wallet is protected! Memberships can and have saved members thousands of dollars.
2. No Additional Out-of-Pocket Expenses: By becoming a Sierra Ambulance member, you are protected from any out-of-pocket expenses – even if you are uninsured. Your annual membership fee prepays any deductibles or other portion of the ambulance charge that may not be covered by insurance or Medicare.
3. Supporting and Securing Your Community: Your membership fee goes directly into supporting the community that Sierra Ambulance Service serves. This means we can hire highly trained professionals, invest in technologies, and most importantly…we can save hundreds of lives each year. Your Sierra Ambulance membership helps save lives including the ones you love.
4. Top Quality Care: We strive to provide the best care to our community. We are fully committed to providing the highest quality of emergency medical care and transportation. Our team of experienced EMS professionals works with cities, counties, fire departments, hospitals, and government agencies to ensure that patients receive the best service.
5. Excellent Treatment Guaranteed: With or without a Sierra Ambulance membership, you are assured excellent treatment for any emergency situation. Our EMTs and Paramedics are held to the highest standards, receiving rigorous training and education to meet standards.

Membership Details
- Your Sierra Ambulance Membership is valid for one transport or assessment to an Emergency Room in Madera, Fresno, or Mariposa Counties.
- Does not cover non-emergency trips to Doctor’s offices.
- Does not cover return trips home or trips that originate outside of the Sierra Ambulance Service area.
- Memberships are valid for 1 year beginning at midnight the day after signup. If the membership is used to cover costs, then the membership expires the day it is used, and then a new membership must be purchased.
- Memberships cover the portion of the ambulance charge that is not covered by insurance(s), (primarily co-pays and deductibles).
- If there is no insurance or the claim is denied, the membership will cover the charges in their entirety after appeals efforts are exhausted (Sierra treats Health share plans as insurance plans).
- There is a 30-day grace period for renewal during the insurance billing process wherein you will be covered if there is a subsequent transport before the billing process on the first claim is resolved.
- There is a two-week grace period from the expiration date to renewal if the membership expires during which coverage will remain in force.
- Family memberships extend coverage to a spouse who is not living in the primary residence but is living in a rehabilitation hospital, assisted living facility or skilled nursing facility within the Sierra Ambulance response area. They will be treated as if they shared a primary residence together.
